Frequently Asked Questions About Your Application

Questions About the Application

We require an up-to-date CV. Additionally, you are welcome to voluntarily submit further documents such as certificates, work samples, or a cover letter, or answer our motivational questions. The more we learn about your experience and motivation, the better we can assess whether the position matches your expectations and qualifications.

Yes, if there is currently no suitable position advertised, you are welcome to submit a speculative application. We will then check whether there is a suitable area of employment for you. Additionally, you can set up a job alert. This will actively send you new matching positions for your area of interest via email.

Yes, you are welcome to apply for multiple positions at the same time. If you see another exciting position and are already in an advanced stage of an application process with us, please let the Talent Acquisition Manager responsible for that position know, or write an email to personal@bonprix.net.

During your application, you can also consent to having your documents considered for other positions, allowing us to proactively forward your documents to the relevant department for review if other suitable positions open up.

Yes. Many of our positions at bonprix can be designed flexibly and can be filled on a part-time basis. You can usually see directly in the respective job advertisement whether and to what extent a position is suitable for part-time work. We also offer some of our leadership positions on a part-time basis or within the framework of job-sharing models. Simply talk to us about your desired working hours during the application process.

As a rule, we will get back to you within 3 weeks. Should the process be delayed in exceptional cases, you can contact your responsible Talent Acquisition Manager at any time.

We usually start with a telephone interview. The goal of this call is to get a first impression of you, learn more about your core competencies, align on the general conditions, and answer your initial questions. This is followed by an interview via MS Teams focusing on your professional experience. In the final interview, we meet in person. In most areas, especially in the tech environment, we will ask you to complete a task before the interview, such as a coding challenge or a business case. We will, of course, let you know in advance if this is the case for you and what exactly the task involves. During the interview itself, besides discussing the business case, the focus is on how well we fit together and clarifying any open questions. If possible, you will also get to know your future team afterwards. If we decide to extend an offer after a final internal discussion, we will contact you by phone to discuss the contract offer. You will also receive personal feedback from us in the event of a rejection.

We usually have three interview rounds: a telephone interview, a Teams interview, and a personal meeting on-site.

  1. Telephone interview: Getting to know each other initially, aligning on general conditions, and answering your questions.
  2. Teams interview: Virtual technical discussion with a focus on your professional experience.
  3. On-site interview: To clarify open questions and see if we fit together personally (cultural fit). In tech or business roles, you will usually prepare a practical task (e.g., coding challenge or business case) beforehand.

This depends entirely on the location and the respective team. We conduct the interviews in the language that is most important for your future daily work. For example, at our headquarters in Hamburg, this is usually German. However, if it is an international team – which is the case for many of our tech roles or globally oriented teams – we usually speak English during the interview.

The application process for international positions is similar to the national positions. The special feature: you may meet interview partners from various bonprix locations such as Germany, France, Italy, or Poland. This gives you a first insight into our matrix-organized collaboration and our international culture. Depending on the role, the interviews may take place partly in English and German.

Along with the invitation to the interview, you will receive information about who will be participating in the conversation. Typically, the telephone interview is conducted by someone from the Talent Acquisition team, the subsequent Teams interview with 1–2 colleagues from the department, and the final on-site interview with 2–3 colleagues from the department and the Talent Acquisition team. The exact composition may vary depending on the position.

You are welcome to contact the responsible Talent Acquisition Manager for the position directly if you have any questions. You can always find the contact information at the end of the job advertisement, or you can write an email to personal@bonprix.net.

Prepare concrete examples from your professional or academic background. We are particularly interested in situations where you took on responsibility, solved challenges, or successfully collaborated with others.
